Emil’s Kitchen
Brand Identity and Catalog Design
Monsieur Emil Poulet, a (fictitious) famous French chef, developed a line of bakeware, dinnerware, kitchen gadgets, grilling paraphernalia, and cutlery. The Emil’s Kitchen branding project features a company logo, an 8-page printable brochure for mailing and online viewing, and assorted merchandise.
The Logo Solution
Emil’s last name, Poulet, is the French word for chicken and inspired his new logo. The chicken is one single-line drawing, and the sans-serif typeface has a similar line thickness. The chicken and its blue color look a little bit French to me, n’est-ce pas?
The Catalog
This 8-page catalog was designed to highlight Emil’s custom kitchenware.
The design reflects a charming, sophisticated, and rustic French-style environment and targets people 30+ with a sizeable disposable income.
This demographic loves to cook and experiment in the kitchen.
Reflection
This is one of my favorite branding projects in my portfolio. I experimented with single-line drawing for the chicken, and the chicken makes me smile whenever I see it. Building the catalog helped me improve my InDesign skills and allowed me to work with different page sizes and nested styles.
