Unmasked 2022: Circles Conference
Conference Branding
Circles Conference is a two-day creative design conference by Circles Co. and brings together designers and makers from around the globe. I was challenged to design event material for this event for my Design Communications 2 class at Austin Community College.
The Moodboard
The visual concept for Circles: Unmasked 2022 was inspired by the mid-century modern aesthetic. This optimistic, forward-thinking aesthetic promises a brighter future ripe with creative, innovative ideas.
The Sketches
The sketches for the badge include a range of simple shapes and bright colors. I strove to create the feeling of optimism that comes with the dawning of a new day.
First Round Digital Proofs of the Badge
The Solution
The colors were sampled from paint swatches in a 1950s Sears catalog. The finished badge mixes mid-century, stylized type, popular colors of the era, and geometric, linear shapes to create a cohesive conference brand with a mid-century modern look and feel.

Reflection
The mid-century modern design style continues to be one of my favorite design styles. While I love how this turned out, Iād love to explore other design patterns and expand the color palette.
